Celebrities Seek Fat Transfer for Post-Baby Bodies

March 22, 2014

Celebrities using autologous fat transfer and fat storage for post baby body. Most new mothers wish their body would bounce back just as soon as their baby is born. It’s not that easy, unfortunately. The body has yet to go through hormonal changes and physical changes before it will work on burning off the fat stored during pregnancy.

Despite the harsh realities of post-baby bodies, celebrities throughout the world walk out just weeks after delivery looking like nothing ever happened. How do they do this?

Many people say that these celebrities starve themselves or use the latest crash diet to lose the weight. It’s not always true, though. Some celebrity mothers are now turning to fat transfer to get their post-baby bodies to look gorgeous.

According to a Fox News report recently, two spokespeople for several unnamed celebrity moms say that it’s not unusual for their celeb clients to seek liposuction or to use fat grafting for body enhancement.

Using Autologous Fat Transfer for Cosmetic Enhancements

  • They see a plastic surgeon that will remove fat from problem areas via liposuction. Usually for mothers, this is the stomach, waist, back, thighs, and buttocks.
  • Once the fat is collected, women who wish to have additional cosmetic enhancements done can store their adipose tissue at an FDA registered laboratory such as our ATGRAFT program at American CryoStem.
  • Once the tissue has been received, it is stored cryogenically to preserve it. It can be stored for decades, so there is no rush to use it.
  • When the patient is ready, their plastic surgeon can request the fat be sent to the office on the day of the patient’s procedure.
  • Once thawed, the surgeon will inject it in areas where they want a lift, reconstruction, or plumping. Usually, these areas include wrinkles in the face, hand rejuvenation, or for augmentation of the lips, buttocks, or breasts.
  • Patients who have had mastectomy can also opt to use this fat for natural breast reconstruction using layered autologous fat transfer.

We should also say that this story reports some extremely unsafe weight loss measures being used by celebrities after delivering their little “bundles of joy”. These unconventional methods include extreme breast pumping around the click and 500 calorie a day diets.

Stored Fat Has Multiple Uses

Stored fat, which is also called adipose tissue, can be used in other ways, not just to reshape the body. This tissue contains valuable stem cells, which can be used in anti-aging skin care such as our U Autologous suite of products.

Topical Use: When applied topically, growth factors from stem cells have been clinically proven to help rejuvenate the skin, smooth away wrinkles, erase fine lines, and improve skin texture to a more youthful look and feel. Since each product is made with the individual’s growth factor derived stem cells, it’s perfectly formulated for each person.

Medical Use: Stored adipose tissue processed into stem cells can also be used for treatment of certain medical conditions. Recently, these stem cells have been used to treat the effects of stroke, arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis as well as scar and cartilage repair.

Storing Fat for Your Own Good

There are so many benefits to fat storage, including harvesting and storing the weight gained during pregnancy.

Reshape problem areas via liposuction and then store your fat so you can:

  • Slim your body
  • Fill in wrinkles
  • Augment any part of the body
  • Improve the appearance of aging skin
  • Protect yourself from the effects of certain medical conditions

However quickly celebrities lose their baby weight, following unsafe practices can put both mom and baby in danger. For example, a mom who is breastfeeding while severely limiting caloric intake can rob themselves and their infant of much-needed nutrients.  Always consult with your OB/GYN or a Registered Dietician for sound nutrition advice.
